Silk velvet
was traditionally used for making very expensive clothes for well-to-do people. It is much rarer to find ikat velvet
rather than just ikat weave.
This is the smaller one of two panels I have from the same robe.
I purchased them in Peshawar on the Afghan border
some twenty years ago they have been stretched and mounted and are ready to hang
